SOUTH IRON GOES BACK TO BACK IN ARCADIA VALLEY THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT
The South Iron Panthers captured their 21st Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament title with a 64-59 victory over the Lesterville Bearcats. This made for back to back tournament championships for the Panthers. South Iron was led in scoring by sophomore Drenin Dinkins with 22pts and juniors Brock Wakefield and Jermarco Burse with 15pts and 12 pts.
The Lesterville Bearcats fought the Panthers for the championship the last three years, and took second this year. The Bearcats were led in scoring by senior Vince Mathes with 16pts, followed by sophomore Nolan Mathes with 12 pts, and senior James Gibson with 10pts.
Although the game was back and forth for most of the game the Panthers led @ every quarter break 13-7 after 1 30-25 @ the half and 49-33 after 3 quarters
and went on to win their second straight tournament championship .South Iron Panthers are now 3-0 and ranked 5th in the state of Missouri according to the latest
state poll!
In the third place game the Clearwater Tigers finished off their best tournament since 2013 with an impressive 63-48 victory over the host team Arcadia Valley Tigers. Clearwater was led in scoring by seniors Taylor Hicks with 23 pts, Gage Keller with 16 pts, and Karson Fey with 10pts. The Tigers move to 3-1 on the season.
