Ozark Foothills Conference: Championship Night
The Ozark Foothills Conference Tournament championship night in Poplar Bluff brought three games. Naylor won the JV Boys' Championship. The girls' championship game featured the (1) Neelyville Lady Tigers and the (2) Doniphan Donettes. Neelyville set the tone early with a first quarter lead of 14-3. The Lady Tigers led the whole way to win their 11th straight Ozark Foothills Conference Tournament Championship. The final score was 63-43. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by their D1 commit, Jentri Worley, with 28 pts and Sr. Rhegan Tutor with 10 pts. The Donettes were led in scoring by Jr. Emily Ederer with 16 pts.
The boys' championship game featured the (1) Neelyville Tigers against the (2) Twin Rivers Royals. This game had not been decided at the half with only an 8 point difference: 28-20 Twin Rivers. Without their junior center, Curtis Fowler, in the middle, Neelyville struggled to hang on. The Royals led after the third quarter 46-23. The Royals went on to win the Ozark Foothills Conference Tournament Championship with a final score of 60-32. Twin Rivers' senior, Hayden Thomas, showed why he was one of the best players in the conference tonight as he led the Royals in scoring with 22 pts. The Tigers were led in scoring by So. Jemaane Williams with 13 Marquise West with 10 pts.
