Lady Panthers Win Fourth Straight Valley Caledonia Tournament Title
The Lady Panthers came into the 30th Annual Valley Caledonia Tournament as the favorite to win, and even though West County gave them a tough contest this year, South Iron was able to capture their fourth straight Valley Tournament Championship. South Iron defended their title in light of losing four starters from last year's team. The Lady Panthers promoted some young talent as their Freshman guard, Madison Ayers was dominant in the championship game on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Ayers hit four three-pointers and had several steals as she ran the point for the Panthers. Madison finished with 17 points. Her Senior sister, and current MAC recruit, Michaela Ayers provided some balance as she contributed 16 points for the Lady Panthers.
If you want to catch the Lady Panthers in action next, they take on the Ellington Lady Whippets on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 at South Iron.
