Ellington Whippets 3 Peat as BSC Champs
Ellington Whippets complete the 3 peat as BSC champs over the Van Buren Bulldogs 4-3.
The Bulldogs got on the board fin top of the 1st with singles by Trey Nicholson and Hayden Barnes making it 1-0 bulldogs.
The Whippets would answer back in the bottom of the 1st, with a leadoff walk by Jacob Farmer, then singles by Nolan Heady and Garret Morris making it 1-1.
The game would remain 1-1 until the bottom of the 4th. The Whippets would get singles by Bryson King, Tyler Hackworth, and Carson McNail making the score 4-1.
The Bulldogs wouldn't go down without a fight. They would score 2 in the top of the 7th with a double by Keeton Perkins and singles by Landon Dunn and Trey Nicholson.
Eli Crocker was dominant on the mound for the Whippets striking out 8 and scattering 5 hits over 7 innings for the win.
Hayden Barnes would take the loss for the Bulldogs striking out 2.
The BSC 3rd place game featured #3 Alton Comets and #5 Winona Wildcats.
After a scoreless 1st inning, the Comets broke it open in the bottom of 2nd pounding out 9 runs.
The Comets would add another run in the 3rd and 3 more in the 4th to cruise to a 13-1 victory.
One bright spot for the Wildcats was a leadoff home run in the top 4th inning by Harwell.
Cainan Heck got the win for the Comets striking out 5 and only allowing 1 run on 5 hits.
