East Carter Redbirds win first OFC title since 2014

East Carter Redbirds Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Neelyville on Thursday. The game was tied at three with East Carter Redbirds Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Jacob Saffle singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Neelyville scored three runs in the sixth inning, but East Carter Redbirds Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Neelyville came thanks to a single by P.Jeffries and a double by J.Jeffries.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Neelyville tied things up at three when Jacob Jeffries doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Ray Ochoa pitched East Carter Redbirds Varsity to victory. Ochoa surrendered three runs on five hits over eight innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Parker Jeffries took the loss for Neelyville. Jeffries went eight innings, allowing four runs on nine hits, striking out ten and walking one.
East Carter Redbirds Varsity tallied one home run on the day. Saffle went for the long ball in the fifth inning.
East Carter Redbirds Varsity had nine hits in the game. Logan Copeland, Preston Golden, and Saffle all had multiple hits for East Carter Redbirds Varsity. Saffle, Golden, and Copeland each collected two hits to lead East Carter Redbirds Varsity.
